Dear Friends,
Several years ago when we were working in Quetzaltenango we
knew that there was going to be a bigger and better home
for the children
someday. The Hogar Cuna children’s home that served the children
well for 20 years was just not in the best location. When Eagle’s
Nest property was secured, it was going to be in the best interest
of all to move the children to the New Nest away from the busy
street of the second largest city in Guatemala. We prayed and
asked for
the help of our friends and adoptive families to help us build
the new home. By faith we started building before we had the
money to
complete. The money that came in from donors was twice what we
asked for and we are so happy with the new home for the children!
September 1, 2005 was our moving date to occupy the new home. The
full month of August, we worked on the new facility to have it ready
for the moving date. There were five big work teams to help us with
the finishing touches. In September we moved in. It was a beautiful
day until the hour we were to bring the children and then it rained.
Hurrying to get all the children marching over from the apartments
to the new building took about 20 min while it sprinkled. The bricklayers,
gardeners, cooks and nannies all helped. Before entering, Larry led
us in prayer, thanking the Lord for the provision of the big New
Nest. He asked the Lord to bless the workers who gave of their time
each day for a year to make it all possible. He asked to bless those
who sacrificially gave for the dream to be realized. Claire cut
the ribbon while all the workers were waiting with babies in
arms. It
was quite a sight. It was like a parade of babies coming
home. There are still many things undone, but the building is
serving us well. We have 36 children from ages 0-6 years old
and 18 full-time
girls working to make this home a nice place to live while the
children wait for the forever families.
One of our
teams from Idaho made the room separations for the living room
entertainment
center and the office wall for the
computers and
office equipment. One room was very large and was divided into
two rooms by a wall which serves both rooms with bookshelves
and toy
boxes.
Teams supplied
curtains and decorative quilts and toys making the rooms bright
and cheery. These touches nicely decorate
the baby rooms.
The commercial washer and dryer were installed and are ready
to be used. There is lots of laundry for this many children
under one roof.
Three ladies are now the cooks for the home, this works like
clockwork.
Thing to
be finished are:

If you or your
church group can come and help with any of these jobs, please
notify Daniel Boggs at Special Delivery
office in Kansas for information about
upcoming teams. He can be reached at 877-267-3460.
The work is
never really going to be “done” since this is an
on-going ministry and as long as the home is helping orphans, there
will be need for
expansion and maintenance.
A wall is being
lifted around the roof to serve for extra playground and for
hanging out clothes on pretty
days. We are very pleased that
God has helped
us provide this nice New Nest for the children.
Thank you again
for all your help, and please feel welcome to visit anytime.
God Bless,
Claire and Larry Boggs
